I found out about this a couple of days ago and could not let this go by quietly...
Honda has a huge dealer incentive to get rid of them.
They are in the crate and can be shipped free!
You can finance through American Honda with 1.99 for 60 mos.
That's only $121 a month for a brand new CBR1000RR!
Bottom line is this guys... In Honda's Atlanta warehouse they still have about 600 of these things laying around. All of the 2008 colors except all black. So Red, Yellow Black, Silver Black, and the dark red silver are still available. Honda is doing all they can because they still have 3000 2009's in the warehouse. We can meet the same price as TN or AK but we are required to collect sales tax in the state of FL unless we have a Bill of Lading. We have a shipper we use who charges us $235 and the hold back on the bike covers that. So like I said before if anyone has any questions or wants one of these bikes let me know.

I hope someone finds this useful!

I heard about this in Savannah, and wanted a 1000rr, but they need proof of income @ Honda Finance and everywhere else for that matter...
Do you (or anyone else) know where I can get financed w/out proof of income? Of course I have income and pretty good credit, but I write everything off of my business - therefore, it "looks" like minor income. I am changing this ASAP, but it will take a year for verifiable income.
They think that I cannot afford $130/mo, but I have no late payments for 4 years @ $170/mo... Go figure! I think it is mostly legal "mumbo jumbo" since the recession and bad debt crisis started, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Keep me posted...

I'd try with a local bank dude. Honda financing wanted 373$ a month for five years with a 17% interest rate on me, I walked right into primesouth here in town and got it for 298 a month with a 7% interest rate.

The only problem with this post is the fact that dealerships are not allowed to ship motorcycles in the crate unless it is to another dealer. There are actually steep fines from Honda for doing this. But if you can buy one for that price from them, or another dealer, that's one hell of a great deal.

I also heard about these fines, but David over in Waycross told me if you bought the bike and had a local shop you could take it there and they would have to put it together since it's a new motorcycle.

That could be, but it's flirting a fine line.

After several months of admiration and speaking to the salesman and sales manager here in Savannah, I finally got the price to $7,800 out the door... Just to be told that I could not get it financed for 5 years locally and Honda needed "proof of income." Oh well, the R6 will be paid in full in a few months, so it may become a tracker or something a girlfriend could ride down the line.

'Crate price' does not mean you are getting a bike in a crate (per American Honda)... it must be assembled and can then be shipped at no additional cost - but it is a good starting point for getting a good deal.
I am not an F&I person nor affiliated with any dealership, simply passing along a good deal from my buddies at 'zilla so I can't help with financing.
