A rock slide closed hwy 129 a couple miles north of the curvy sections, up along the lake at Chelhowee dam in Tn. But, its open from the NC side coming from Deals Gap itself. One can NOT get to it from the north side tho.

its a closed Time Trial course for locals since no traffic is allowed to go thru the slide area

Damn the title scared me... Thought you meant closed, as in, CLOSED, for good.

no just for a few months. the rock slide has been cleared but they the mountain is unstable and they need to clear it so no more slides happen. they really arent sure how long its goign to take them just guessing 1-2 more months.

they should just go ahead and knock down the unstable part but knowing the cheap ass penny pinchers they will probably just break out the duct tape and zip ties.

the plan is to knock it down but they say its to dangeros to try right now... its gooing to be better if you wait?
