but no seriously THE hightlight of GP this year was watching Lorenzo ride 11/10ths to try and one up Rossi, and he DID now and then. personally i think he's a little too much like Pedrosa and not enough like Doohan, but hopefully time will tell the story. if he can chill the fuck out and strive to be more like Rossi, he will become Rossi. otherwise he's just going to be the next Stoner.
this is why i like Colin Edwards so much. his personality is what makes him such a badass, not his podium finishes. and if you ever see him on a podium finish interview he's hilarious, he's like ' man i was like OH SHIT and then i saw ol dude going by like WHOA and then i'm like FUCK i gotta do something NOW!!! ' .
the way i see it, GP, just like F1 is cubic dollar racing. in theory we could make entirely mechanical motorcycles, all steering and throttle inputs done by little hydraulic pumps or electric motors. having a rider that's seasoned like a good piece of meat that can handle the heat is what makes and breaks a team in the long run.

Here is how I saw it:
Had Pedrosa not wrecked and fucked his shit up, he would have beaten Lorenzo for second, and Stoner would have had the close 3rd/4th split with Lorenzo. Rossi needs to stop worrying about what his teammate does, and just fucking race, as if he does that he will damn near be unstoppable. Colin Edwards is beast, and I see him doing well this year. Nicky Hayden needs to gtfo, as he didn't do shit for team Marlboro this year. Ducati should have tried to sign Spies to partner up with Stoner. De Angelis and Elias need to put more trust in their machines, just because they're not racing with the bread and butter of Honda (Repsol) doesn't mean they're not on one hell of a pair of machines, that are fully capable of winning races, along with De Puniet. Can't say much about Pramac, they didn't do shit this year, along with Scot and Hayate, whom probably just need a good roster shake up.

i'd hate to see spies go to ducati, yamaha has such a strong lineup right now, they're completely dominating.
as for hayden, he just simply isn't working with the desmo. that thing is designed to fit stoner like a glove. if honda would take him back i think everybody would feel better about him, himself especially.

Kawasaki could be nice for him.

haha, you want to open up a seperate saving account to support him? it's bad enough that we've got big 4 dropping out of AMA/DMC. personally i feel that ALL of us as spectators/fans need to chill out on who does what or what goes where until the economy picks back up, and even then, to realize that these guys are RACERS by career. they're not 'todd' from georgia sportbike, they're not joebaggadonuts wanting to go from B to I and into A in NESBA, they're not that rich kid down the street racing his dirtbike every weekend at his grandparents' expense to try his best to impress the kids at school and kick ass every so often at finals.
these guys may lack certain things that we have (kindness, reason, give-a-damn,, - money, namesake, an asswhoopin', lottery numbers, who knows. regardless they are where they are, and nobody else was in a better place to kick them down a notch in the ladder last year.
i'm just playing devil's advocate here but hell, it's not like we're all a bunch of wera novices trying to make a buck. thes guys ARE the pro's and shouldn't be shit talked into oblivion no matter how cocky they get. this all boils down to being a kentucky derby here, and blaming the jockey was never an excuse for a lame horse :)

my money is either on Rossi (since that's where it's always been) or Pedrosa... Stoner has a good shot, but I don't think he has it in him this year - time will tell!
Who all watches the races??? We need a Shifted gathering for these in local PUBS or Sports Bars or Restaurants... Let's make Shifted PUBLIC!

surely somebody knows somebody that knows somebody with some invite codes to racing underground.....i don't know about you guys but i really prefer watching wss/wsbk/gp with the eurosport guys instead of what we get in america. and of course, not all the races are popular enough to make it on speed. gotta make room for crashcar and monster jam >_>
